University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Pharmacy, Rennebohm Hall, Madison, WI The facility will accommodate the entire School of Pharmacy and includes the departments of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry and Pharmacy Practice Division. The new building contains four typical laboratory floors of generic laboratories for research and related support spaces, and two floors that include teaching laboratories, an analytical instrumentation center, vivarium and administrative offices. The most important feature of the programming and planning process has been that the new facility contain generic laboratories and flexible laboratory support space. One of the aspects of this flexibility was the development of three zones within the typical generic laboratory floor. The three zones include the laboratory unit consisting of a workstation alcove, fixed benches and an equipment alcove, the laboratory support rooms and the linear equipment room. The linear equipment room located between the generic laboratories and the laboratory support rooms will house all secondary freestanding equipment.
