Biomedical Research Building, Portland, OR

The Biomedical Research Building (BRB) is a new 270,719 gross square feet research facility that is located on the Marguam Hill Campus. The 11-floor facility is the first with the prospect of two future developments to help create Oregon Health & Sciences University as one of the leading centers in the biomedical research community.

The building provides 6 floors of state-of-the art, highly efficient wet research laboratories and associated lab support, and a core research imaging facility (13,287 NSF): The OHSU Center for Advanced Imaging Research Center.

This location reinforces the notion of a "necklace" of interconnected research buildings starting with the Basic Science Building to the west, continuing to the Vollum Research Building, the Medical Research Building, and finally, the BRB. The new building is physically connected to both the Medical Research Building and to the Outpatient Clinic, thereby providing interaction between OHSU's Research and Clinical campuses.
