New York University Joan and Joel Smilow Research Center, New York, NY The New York University School of Medicine Smilow Research Center is a trapezoidal tower in on the East side of Midtown Manhattan adjacent to the FDR Drive. The 13 story tower is dedicated to biomedical research and to molecular medical conditions ranging from cancer and heart disease to neurological and genetic problems. The 230,000 square foot tower consists of generic, very open laboratory plan, fosters interaction between scientists as well as accommodate programs based on research themes.
