California State University, Northridge Sequoia Hall Health and Human Development Building, Northridge, CA The College of Health & Human Development (Sequoia Hall 82,000 sf) has been designed to facilitate education in interdisciplinary fields of study that focus on improving the health and well-being of humans. GPR planned and designed 46,000 gsf of Sequoia Hall that will house five functional groups (with their respective support spaces) which include the Dean's Office, Student Services Center, interdisciplinary program in Child & Adolescent Development, Family Environmental Sciences and the Marilyn Maragam Center for Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics. Laboratory spaces that will be incorporated into the building include food science, food chemistry, and textile chemistry laboratories. The project provides an opportunity to design laboratory spaces that emulate a commercial restaurant setting within a laboratory environment, in addition to textile testing, and food chemistry testing laboratories.
