Rick Honeywell is a principal at GPR Planners Collaborative, Inc. specializing in the programming, planning and design of research facilities.

Mr. Honeywell brings to GPR over 12 years of experience in the design and renovation of laboratory facilities. He previously held a position as the Director of Laboratory Division at Windsor Workplaces where he mastered the art of laboratory casework design, engineering and installation.

Mr. Honeywell's expertise involves the planning and design of academic and institutional laboratories and animal facilities. His assignments include existing facilities analysis, design concepts, and macro- and micro-level development of laboratory and animal facilities. This includes the careful management of the overall facility design, engineering requirements down to the precise detailing of laboratory casework.

Mr. Honeywell has had direct project involvement with major laboratory facility projects ranging from renovation and expansion work to the design of new facilities.

Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrated Genomics, Princeton, NJ...designed so that public functions (office, meeting rooms and teaching spaces) and the basement program (rodent animal and core facilities) have been clearly defined, while the laboratory spaces have been designed as an open-loft configuration.

University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey
Child Health Institute, New Brunswick, NJ … research laboratories design to facilitate the investigation of genetic, environmental and behavioral factors in human growth and development with emphasis on prevention, treatment and cure of childhood diseases.

University of Massachusetts School of Medicine
Aaron Lazare Medical Research Building, Worcester, MA …vivarium will be a complete barrier facility and includes a Transgenics Core Facility. A system of suites, containing animal research labs and procedure rooms will provide flexibility to house colonies of varying sizes and species. This "state of the art" facility will utilize ventilated animal housing racks and an automated cage processing system to maximize productivity.
